Harrell’s Tire & Auto Service investigates drivetrain noise, vibration and power-transfer concerns. Drivetrain components transfer power toward the wheels and vary by vehicle layout; they can include the transmission, driveshafts, axles, CV joints and differential.
Tell the advisor whether a noise or vibration occurs during acceleration, turning, shifting or steady-speed driving. Testing helps identify the affected component before recommending a repair. Learn about clutch repair or contact your preferred Harrell’s shop.
VEHICLE SUSPENSION
The suspension supports the vehicle, controls wheel movement and helps the tires maintain contact with the road. It is a distinct system from the drivetrain, although concerns in either system can cause similar noises or vibrations.
Clunks, excessive bouncing, changes in handling or uneven tire wear warrant inspection. The recommended work depends on the condition of the suspension and steering components. Worn or damaged parts may need attention before an alignment can be completed.
